A high-ranking PKK commander with a bounty of $258,000 has been killed in anti-terrorist operations.
The governor of Tunceli explained on Sunday that Murat Dag was killed by the Turkish gendarmerie along with another eight PKK fighters. It cooperated with the National Intelligence Agency, MIT, on the Pulumur district operation. Murat Dag is also known as Ferhat Yilmaz.

Murat Dag is on the top terrorist list of the Turkish Interior Ministry in the middle (green) category. The search list is divided into five colour-coded categories, with red counting the top searches, followed by blue, green, orange and grey.
Turkish security forces ensured numerous weapons and documents of the Kurdish underground organizations during the operation.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the USA and the EU because of its political objectives and military practices.
